For the past twenty years, painting the Capitol has been a meaningful part of my creative journey. As a Washingtonian, the Capitol is woven into my visual and emotional landscape as an imperfect but powerful symbol that resonates deeply with so many of us in D.C. Over the years, it has served as both my muse and my warm-up, a familiar presence that has shaped my artistic practice.
The Capitol now carries new layers of meaning, reflecting the complex times we live in and my own shifting perspective as both an artist and an activist.
